International Day May 2011

Dear. . . dear . . . it's been 8 long months since I updated this blog. Oh dear. . .  I think I have a much difficult task at hand because the photos seem to have gone haywire. Let's hope I haven't lost everything.. . .

Now what happenned after DS came back from his school trip? Oh yeah they had International Day in school. On this day, the kids were allowed to wear their national/traditional dress or any clothes that they feel connected to. Most kids turned up in their traditional clothes but some did turn up in football jersey of their countries and also judo uniform. Parents were also encouraged to wear the traditional clothes when they came to watch the parade, unfortunately not many parents did that.

The International Day in British School was much simpler compared to The International School of Amsterdam. Here, the children paraded in the school compound for the parents for approximately 5 minutes, then they went inside for the school's activity. The whole school parade took about half an hour only. It seemed hardly worthwhile for the parents to dress up in our bling bling dress, only to go home less than an hour later. Anyway, let's see some of the photos that I managed to take on that day.

Around 9 a.m. children started to parade in front of the parents. They came out class by class accompanied by the class teacher.
Class L4RH
Some turned up in jeans and football jersey :D
Some in judo uniform, he must be Japanese :D

Some came out running. . . ohh that's my DS
Some came out in her baju tidor kelawar. . . That's my dear son's class teacher Mrs K btw :D
Much as I dislike disagree with most of her way of teachings, I did not have the heart to tell her that she was wearing baju tidor when she proudly pointed that the dress was given to her by her ex Malaysian student or was it friend? I did not remember. But the joker in me couldn't help smiling when I saw her came out trailing in her kelawar dress.

Aahh. . . .  cute little girls

And sexy teacher !

And here are DS with his 3 Bruneian friends :D

Later, the kids had international lunch in their year group. I shall try to upload more photos from the event.
